SBD Studio completed the landscape installation for this extraordinary mountainside residence, bringing the desert planting design to life across a challenging, highly crafted site. Sculptural cacti, palo verde and native desert plantings were carefully integrated among the home’s terraces, stonework and architecture to create a landscape that feels inseparable from the surrounding mountain. Installation required thoughtful coordination and precision throughout—including craning a mature tree into place on the upper terrace. The result is a landscape that softens the architecture, extends the experience of the home outdoors and feels naturally rooted in the Sonoran Desert.
