Every place has its own character, shaped by its landscape, ecology, history, culture, and the people who experience it. Our process begins by understanding those relationships through observation, research, conversation, and exploration.

From that understanding, ideas emerge through an ongoing dialogue between nature, people, and design. Sketching remains an essential part of that dialogue. We love to sketch—not simply to illustrate ideas, but to uncover them. While we embrace contemporary tools and technology, the immediacy of drawing by hand allows us to question, explore, test possibilities, and discover answers that often reveal themselves through the process.

These explorations, together with planning and collaboration, help define the unique potential of each place. We then carry those ideas through design, construction, and long-term stewardship—working across disciplines to ensure that what is imagined is thoughtfully realized and built to endure.
